About Us
The Center of Expertise for Rare Diseases at the Pediatric Neurology Department of "Dr. Victor Gomoiu" Children's Hospital is a key reference point for the care, treatment, and monitoring of patients with rare diseases. Here, some of the rarest conditions, affecting fewer than one person in 2,000, are treated by a team of highly experienced doctors.
They specialize in a wide range of diseases, including ultra-rare conditions that affect very few children, ensuring that each patient receives the best possible care. Since 2024, we have also been accredited as a center of expertise for achondroplasia and other skeletal dysplasias, and from 2025 we became a DMD Center accredited by the World Duchenne Organization, ensuring international standards of diagnosis, treatment and multidisciplinary management.
